Can I Set the City of the Influencers Themselves as My Target Since I Am Running a Local Business?
acmp-rewritten
Not today. Location targeting works at country level, and there is no city filter in search or in the campaign brief.
Why it is not there
This is a data limitation, not a setting you have missed. Creator records carry a country, and a city is simply not collected, so there is nothing for a city filter to search against.
What you can do instead
1
Filter by country in Find Influencers to get the right market.
2
Say the city in your campaign description. Creators read the brief before they apply, and local creators will identify themselves.
3
Use a local hashtag in the keyword or hashtag filter. City hashtags are one of the more reliable ways to surface local creators.
4
Ask in the chat. Once a creator sends an offer you can ask where they are based and request audience insights before you commit.
5
Check their recent posts. A genuinely local creator usually shows it in their content.
When the city really matters
A physical location, a restaurant, gym or shop, where the creator has to turn up in person.
An event on a date in one place.
A local service that only operates in one metro area.
In all three cases, put the requirement in the campaign title as well as the description. It is the first thing a creator reads, and it filters far more effectively than any hidden setting would.
Good to know
If you are shipping a product rather than needing someone in person, country targeting is usually enough. See offering physical products.
Why this helps you
Country level targeting plus a clear brief gets you further than it sounds, because creators self-select. A brief that says Toronto in the title is read by thousands of Canadian creators, and the ones who reply are the ones who can actually be there.
