What Are Some Valid Reasons to Explain Why a Collaboration Wasn’t Completed?
acmp-rewritten
Be specific and be factual. A vague explanation takes three rounds of messages to resolve; a specific one can usually be settled in the first reply, and that matters because there is a refund timer running.
What to include, whichever side you are on
The brand and campaign name, so we can find the deal.
The agreed delivery date, and what date things actually happened.
What was agreed: the deliverable, the caption, the tags, any link in bio.
What happened instead, in one or two sentences.
The link submitted, exactly as it was submitted.
Screenshots, including the offer card and its current status.
The relevant chat messages. If the other side agreed to something, the chat is the record of it.
Common reasons, and the evidence that settles each
| Reason given | What settles it |
|---|---|
| The content was not delivered on time | The agreed date, the submission date, and whether the deadline was extended |
| The content did not match the brief | The Campaign Delivery Terms beside the post itself, plus any chat message where the concept was approved |
| It was posted on the wrong platform or format | The campaign’s stated deliverable and the live link |
| The product never arrived | Shipping details and the dates in the chat |
| The product was not what was described | Photos, and the campaign description |
| The brand never responded | The chat, showing your messages and the silence |
Important
Do not delete the post while a deal is being looked at. The post is the evidence that you delivered. Without it there is nothing for a brand or an admin to approve, whatever the chat says.
Why speed matters here
An unapproved delivery is refunded to the brand automatically, about 10 days after a readable link was submitted and as little as 3 days after the agreed date if the link could not be read. Nothing warns either side first. Raising it early is the difference between a decision and a refund.
Good to know
Get agreements into the chat. A brand who approved your concept in writing, or agreed to a new date, cannot reasonably dispute it later, and the chat is what we read when the two accounts disagree.
Why this helps you
Because the chat, the submission and every status change are recorded on the deal, most disputes are a matter of reading the timeline rather than deciding whose account to believe.
