acmp-rewrittenHow you change a delivery date depends entirely on whether the deal has been paid. There are three different situations and three different routes, and using the wrong one is why this looks confusing.
Which situation are you in?
Waiting Payment
Not paid yet. You change the date, and it saves immediately
Paid and Scheduled
Paid. You must request a revision, which the creator accepts. The creator can also extend once on their own
Failed
The date passed with no post. You can restart the deal by extending the date
If the delivery date is less than 24 hours away or has already passed, clicking Pay opens a pop-up asking for a new delivery date, pre-filled about 15 days ahead.
The new date must be at least one day ahead.
It saves immediately and the creator is not asked. A chat message tells them you extended it.
Then the payment continues as normal.
Good to know
Ainfluencer suggests giving creators five to seven days for the best results. A date tomorrow gets you worse content from fewer creators, because the good ones are already booked.
Once the money is in escrow the date is part of an agreed deal, so you cannot simply change it. Use Edit on the offer, which raises a revision request that the creator has to accept.
Important
The creator can extend the deadline once without asking you. This is normal and it is one extension per scheduled period. Your money stays safely in escrow the whole time and is only released when you approve the delivery. If the new date does not work, say so in the chat.
3. After the deal has failed
If the date passed with no post, the deal shows Failed. You can still save it with Edit, which opens Restart the Deal by Extending the Date.

Extending the date in time stops this clock. If you want the deal to survive, act before the refund rather than after, because after a refund you have to pay again.
Why this helps you
Escrow is what makes all of this safe. Whatever happens to the date, your money is held rather than sent, and it comes back to you automatically if the work is never delivered. The date is a scheduling problem, never a money-at-risk problem.
